Ro boy climbed out of his crib Saturday night. We're not sure how he did it. We put him to bed and almost immediately I had to go throw up in the bathroom. It was a really bad one. The first time I threw up in front of Ro boy was Friday night and it scared him pretty bad. So, when he heard me throwing up again he started crying. After a bit, someone pushes the bathroom door open and it's Ro boy with a worried look on his face. I was shocked but assumed Husband got him out of bed to console him. When he saw I seemed to be ok, he ran out to the living room and made a little bed on the couch. Husband was shocked to see him go running by but thought I let him out of the crib. Neither of us did though -- somehow he got out by himself and came to check on poor barfing mommy.
I've kept him in footie pajamas for a long time because I thought they prevented him from getting enough traction to get out. When he was around 9 months, he walked up the side of the crib in his bare feet - hence the footies. However, last week, I saw him throw his leg over the top bar. He didn't try to get out though. He just stood there with it slung over for awhile and then put it down. I took it as a warning of future escape attempts but I hadn't done anything about it. We didn't hear any sort of thump so he got over the railing and climbed down without falling. I'm so glad he didn't do a header.
He was really disappointed not to be able to sleep on the couch (like mommy does). I thanked him for his concern and put him back in bed and sat with him to make sure he went to sleep too.
Ro boy is really quite protective of Mommy. He's tried to save me from other toddlers and also an electric toothbrush, which Daddy was running against my wrist to show Ro boy it wasn't dangerous. Ro boy was not convinced and didn't like Mommy being in harm's way either. he he.
other stuff
I'm still not feeling well but I'm only throwing up once or twice a day now. My in-laws are coming this week to see Ro boy and help out with some house stuff. The painting starts next Monday. The floors are done and the look really great.
I planted some perennials in the back yard and then freaked out because I realized it was something I shouldn't be doing while pregnant because of Toxoplasmosis, which is a parasite that may live in the soil. Anyhow, it can really screw up a fetus. I had on gloves and then went and put a filter mask on for the rest of my gardening session. Ugh. I had a toxoplasma blood test. Hopefully, when I get the results, it will say I've already had it anyway and then you don't really need to worry about it so much.
Also, I really need to be more pro-active about packing. I've only done a few boxes. We'll probably move in sometime between Mid-November and Thanksgiving and there is much to do.
