My grandmother (Ro boy's Great Grandma) and her best friend, who I also consider to be a grandmother, are coming to stay with us over labor day weekend, so we're on a cleaning/reorganizing mission because our domicile is tragically disorganized, especially our bedroom, where they'll be staying.

Anyhow, I dragged out my wedding dress, tried it on to make sure I could still fit into it. (I could. Yay!) Then, I threw it on the bed while reorganizing some of my clothes. Ro boy discovered the dress and had a field day playing in the tulle underpinnings. I snapped the picture above.

Mostly, he considered the dress to be a great place to play with his tractors and trains. He really loves to look at something through something else. He loves sunglasses, watching tv through the living room curtains or any sort of clear, plastic toy actually. So, the tulle really fit the bill. He was able to drive his tractors around through a fabric mist. The tulle gave him a lot of different layers of visibility.

Housey stuff
I've been contemplating interior design issues. It's amazing how much stuff you can find online. I found this site about pouring acids on concrete to turn it different colors, which interests me because we have a humongous basement. I'd like to make a play room for Ro boy but carpeting in a basement is kind of gross and I hate vinyl but just leaving the concrete as is seems sort of grim as well.

I also found these clay paints that interest me a lot. I love the natural colors. They're supposed to make your walls look plastered.

However, I'm really interested in working with color washes or glazing as well. Home Depot and Lowe's sometimes do demos on techniques. I might try to hit one soon. So, many decisions to make.

The engineer's inspection is tomorrow. Then, we'll get the mold tests back on Friday. I talked the engineer for an hour on the phone and he assured me that even toxic mold can be dealt with effectively. So, we'll see.

Well, time to get to work. I'm so behind. I wasted all my work time doing house stuff last week, so I have twice as much to do this week. ack!
