Ro boy has started gnawing off his nails in the last week. He has no more nail left to chew at the moment so he's started in on his toes. Yesterday, he realized Mommy had lots of nails that were tantalizingly unchewed so he kept trying to come up and trim them down for me. It's funny. I keep telling him he can only chew his own nails but then he'll be after me again in a few hours. His whole gnawing thing has really picked up recently. I'm wondering if it's the influence of the second year molars. Hmmm.
Bye bye baby
Ro baby is no more. He's now Ro boy as he turned two a week ago Tuesday. We got him a really nice John Deere tractor that looks similar to this one but only cost half as much. It seems to be gone now though. He's totally crazy about it. Since we have some left over birthday funds, we might get him this backhoe as well. He'd totally be in little boy heaven then.
Wussy mommy
So, I've been sick and I finally started feeling a little better yesterday. However, Ro boy made sure I still ended up feeling terrible anyway by being the instrument of a little accident for Mommy. I was kneeling on the floor toweling him off after his bath when he made a sudden and successful dash for the door, which was partially closed. Because our bathroom is so tiny, I was basically kneeling behind the door as well as being in front of the closet door. So, I started to get up and get out of the way but Ro boy was too fast for me. When he pushed the bathroom door back, he did it with all his might and Mommy's head got slammed in between the bathroom door knob and the closet door knob. I sat there and cried and cried and cried. If someone told me they got their head slammed between two doorknobs I think I'd just laugh. It sounds so stupid and Three Stooges-like. It wasn't funny though and even now, more than 24 hours later, my head is still really sore to the touch on both sides and I'm having an intermittent throbbing headache. I think it's a second concussion. sigh.
Anyhow, I wish I could say it was the first Ro baby accident but it's not. Not at all. Heck, before Ro baby was even born, he put me in the hospital with a bruised uterus after kicking me hard in the same spot for five or six hours straight. It was brutal and I was in total agony. It's like getting punched in the gut over and over and over -- except I was getting punched on the inside.
I was convinced he broke my nose when he was about 6 months old. At 14 months, he gave me a complex concussion by hitting me in the head with a die cast metal train. And, when he was about 20 months old he tried to jump from a chair onto my lap and ended up hitting me in the eye/face with another die cast train. I had a bruise for a week. I could go on but really the door knob incident has been the worse. He's never done anything intentionally though. It's just accidents. Although,I do seem to get hurt more than anyone else. Daddy's gotten it in the nuts several times but that's about it for him. I'm the only one who gets the head injuries.
