I submitted this picture to the Mirror Project in honor of our new tea kettle. I also found a link to the 26 Things project from Feli. I'm going to do it too as I really need to start taking pictures of something besides my little boy, although I love photographing him. The picture above is a recent one I took of him in a fort I built for him out of pillows and blankets. I feel like spent half my childhood inside various forts either indoors or outdoors. They're so fun.

Give the dregs to Americans
I just found out that Stephen Fry is the reader of the UK Harry Potter books, whilst we get stuck with Jim Dale. Not that Dale is awful or anything, but his accent isn't nearly as nice as Fry's. I'm going to have to order a book on CD from Amazon UK and see if Fry really is better. I suspect he will be though.

Also,Pippa mentioned that you could hear Ringo Star in some Thomas videos. Yet another case of Americans getting screwed. Do we get Ringo? No. We get George Carlin and Alec Baldwin. I wasn't thrilled with George until I heard Alec, which instantly made me immensely thankful for George. I can do without Alec's feeble attempts at a British accent. Also, he changes the accents for characters randomly. No consistency. I think he does all the newer Thomas videos unfortunately. I'd like them so much more if there were real British readers. Sigh. British videos won't play on American VCRs either... and neither will DVDs because of PAL.
