Lately, Ro baby has been watching me eat. He likes my fork. He used to like my food but now it's just the fork. Last night, he decided he wanted to assist me with my dinner. I was sitting on the couch eating away when he jumped in my lap and grabbed the fork right out of my hand. Then, he sat in my lap facing me and started stabbing at my food and trying to feed me. I never thought I'd let a toddler wave a pointy, metal object anywhere near my face but I did --- and it went ok. Other than getting food all over me, he didn't stab me in the face or anything. Fortunately, I wear protective eyewear (glasses), so I wasn't too worried. The funny thing was that he kept rotating the fork at the last minute and dropping the food on my shirt or the couch. It was a mess, but he was enjoying himself so much that I couldn't help but go with it. In the end, I looked like Ro baby does after a meal except I didn't have any food in my hair. However, I did have food in my trouser pockets.

Because of his new found interest in forks, I dug out his baby fork again. He'd been apathetic to it before. However, he ate lunch with it today and used it for nearly every bite.

flasher
We bought Ro baby his own flashlight recently too. He loves shining the light on the ceiling. All we had before was a huge steel Mag-Lite, which was fine except it was like giving Ro baby a steel club to play with. Toddler + Steel Club = hurt toddler or concussed mommy. So, now he has a small plastic flash light. Yay. I don't have to live in fear of a concussion anymore. No accidents actually occurred but there were a few close calls.

a pg moment
I'm a big tea drinker. When I lived in England, I got hooked on a brand called PGTips. I just noticed they've started running adverts ( in the UK) designed by Aardman studios of Wallace & Gromit fame. You can watch the video clips here. They're cute.

"[A PG Moment] is a modern expression of the traditional tea break, time out that has so often been lost in the busy modern world. It reminds people to take the physical time and mental space to relax and reinvigorate."

Hell, yeah.
