(working - no time to draw)

So - either the ignoring thing is working or Ro baby is over his prolonged tantrum fit. Tantrum Boy is gone and has been replaced by Wild Child, who is tearing around like a maniac yet also being sweet and cooperative. So, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday went vastly better. There was hardly any tantruming at all. He napped well. He went to bed at night well. He also slept through the night every night. I feel quite joyous.

Tantrums almost seem like some sort of nervous disorder. Sometimes Ro baby just belly flops on the floor without any crying or facial expression change whatsoever. One moment he's just standing there and the next he's doing a superman dive and landing on the floor. It's kind of funny. I used to think he was tripping or something but now I realize this is a prelude to a tantrum. He might superman dive three or four times before getting around to outright tantruming --- and if you intervene at this point, you might be able to stop it from happening at all.

war
I've been really mentally distressed since the war started. Every time I read CNN, I just feel ill. I can't imagine what it must be like to be those people fighting. I think I'd freak out and run away from the stress and confusion.

There are many things about war I find very weird -- like the Geneva Convention. I'm glad there's a Geneva Convention but also surprised. War has no morals. Everyone's shooting and killing each other. Yet, once the firefight is over, if the enemy finds a survivor, they have to be civil to them, provide them with medical care, feed them properly, and house them somewhere safe for the duration of the war. I find it deeply ironic that everyone has agreed to this. That there's some shred of humanity / civility even in war. You'd think if people could agree to and abide by something like the Geneva Convention that they could come up with better ways of settling problems rather than killing each other.

Also, it seems like the Geneva Convention wouldn't work. Like you'd be so caught up in the heat and aggression of battle, that you'd find a survivor and just shoot him and keep going -- rather than taking them to medics to be saved and taken care of. However, it seems to work though for the most part, which is fairly amazing. Maybe soldiers are more understanding because they understand the other guy is just doing his job - same as he is.

The Arab position on the Kurds is also very weird -- and irritating . On one hand, they're shrieking for justice for the Palestinians, while on the other they want to make sure the Kurds remain downtrodden. The Turks don't want the Kurds to get their own land because they don't want the Turkish Kurds to demand justice and better treatment. I've never understood this really. It seems like if you didn't like a group of people, that giving them their own land would be the best way to get them out of your hair. They could do what they wanted to do and you could wash your hands of them. Politics doesn't work that way though. Why give them land when you could opt for genocide or persecution instead, right?

You know, I always try to imagine what the world would be like if men were not allowed to participate in politics and also not allowed to carry weapons, yet women could do both. I wonder how different it would be. I always joke about wanting to belong to a political party of only mommies, but it's not really a joke. I actually think it would be a good idea. Mommy power!!!!
